CitizenEarth was created around a simple belief:
We are all Citizens of Earth.
Our community exists to bring together explorers, artists, scientists, storytellers, builders, ocean souls, adventurers, conservationists, entrepreneurs, and curious minds who care deeply about the future of our planet and humanity's relationship with it. These Community Guidelines and Participation Terms apply to all CitizenEarth community initiatives, including but not limited to:
- CitizenEarth Circle
- Community memberships
- Workshops
- Gatherings
- Expeditions
- Volunteer opportunities
- Ambassador programmes
- Online forums
- Digital communities
- Events and experiences
- Campaigns and collaborations
Participation in any CitizenEarth initiative constitutes acceptance of these Guidelines.
1. OUR COMMUNITY VALUES
CitizenEarth is built on:
- Curiosity
- Respect
- Creativity
- Courage
- Inclusion
- Stewardship
- Collaboration
- Responsibility
We expect all members to contribute in ways that uphold these values.
2. WHO MAY PARTICIPATE
Participation is open to individuals who align with the spirit and values of CitizenEarth. CitizenEarth reserves the right to:
- Approve applications
- Decline applications
- Suspend participation
- Revoke membership
at its sole discretion.
Participation in CitizenEarth initiatives is a privilege and not a guaranteed right.
3. EXPECTED COMMUNITY CONDUCT
Members are expected to:
- Treat others respectfully.
- Engage constructively.
- Contribute thoughtfully.
- Respect diverse perspectives.
- Follow event-specific instructions.
- Support a safe and inclusive environment.
- Act honestly and responsibly.
Disagreement is welcome.
Disrespect is not.
4. UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT
The following behaviours are prohibited:
Harassment
Including:
- Intimidation
- Threats
- Bullying
- Personal attacks
- Unwanted advances
Discrimination
Including conduct based on:
- Race
- Ethnicity
- Nationality
- Religion
- Disability
- Gender
- Age
- Sexual orientation
- Any protected characteristic
Harmful Conduct
Including:
- Violence
- Dangerous behaviour
- Reckless actions
- Substance abuse that compromises safety
Disruptive Behaviour
Including:
- Spamming
- Repeated solicitation
- Unauthorised promotion
- Deliberate disruption of activities
Misrepresentation
Including:
- Impersonating others
- Providing false information
- Misrepresenting affiliations
5. COMMUNITY APPLICATIONS
CitizenEarth may use application processes to curate certain experiences, memberships, fellowships, volunteer opportunities, expeditions, events, and programmes. Submission of an application does not guarantee:
- Acceptance
- Membership
- Participation
- Invitation
- Selection
CitizenEarth reserves the right to make selection decisions at its sole discretion. Selection decisions are final.
6. EVENTS, WORKSHOPS & EXPERIENCES
Participants are expected to:
- Follow safety instructions.
- Follow venue rules.
- Respect organisers, speakers, staff, and participants.
- Behave responsibly throughout the experience.
CitizenEarth reserves the right to remove participants whose conduct compromises:
- Safety
- Wellbeing
- Event operations
- Community values
No refund, reimbursement, or compensation will be owed in such circumstances.
7. HEALTH & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Participants are responsible for assessing their own:
- Health
- Fitness
- Medical suitability
- Travel readiness
for any event, workshop, activity, outdoor experience, expedition, or gathering. Participation is voluntary and at the participant's own risk. CitizenEarth does not provide medical advice and shall not be responsible for injuries, illnesses, losses, or damages arising from participation except where required by applicable law.
8. PHOTOGRAPHY, FILMING & CONTENT CREATION
CitizenEarth frequently documents its community through:
- Photography
- Videography
- Interviews
- Testimonials
- Audio recordings
- Documentary content
By attending CitizenEarth events, gatherings, workshops, or experiences, participants acknowledge that such content may be captured. CitizenEarth may use this content for:
- Marketing
- Storytelling
- Editorial content
- Educational programmes
- Social media
- Public relations
- Community communications
- Commercial purposes
unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9. COMMUNITY SUBMISSIONS
Members may voluntarily submit:
- Stories
- Ideas
- Feedback
- Creative work
- Photographs
- Videos
- Testimonials
- Design concepts
- Campaign contributions
By submitting such content, you grant CitizenEarth a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, distribute, and display the content in connection with CitizenEarth's activities. CitizenEarth may provide attribution where appropriate but is not obligated to do so.
10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All CitizenEarth content, materials, programmes, experiences, educational resources, workshops, branding, logos, creative assets, and community initiatives remain the intellectual property of CitizenEarth unless otherwise stated. Participation does not grant ownership rights in any CitizenEarth intellectual property.
11. COMMUNITY SAFETY
CitizenEarth reserves the right to:
- Suspend membership
- Remove participants
- Restrict access
- Decline future participation
where conduct is inconsistent with these Guidelines or presents a risk to the community. Such decisions may be made without prior notice.
12. VOLUNTEERS, AMBASSADORS & CONTRIBUTORS
Participation as a volunteer, ambassador, speaker, contributor, collaborator, or community member does not create:
- Employment
- Partnership
- Agency
- Joint venture
- Contractor status
unless separately documented in writing.
13. CHANGES TO THESE GUIDELINES
CitizenEarth may update these Guidelines from time to time. Updated versions will be published on our website together with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any revised Guidelines.
